About Gerard Mitchell

Gerard Mitchell, a distinguished legal mind and former Chief Justice of Prince Edward Island, brings decades of judicial experience to his upcoming book.

Now residing in Charlottetown with his wife Mary, Gerard Mitchell continues to contribute to the legal discourse. His forthcoming book slated for release in January 2025 delves into the evolution of the Supreme Court of Canada jurisprudence  surrounding courts’ authority to exclude evidence under section 24 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
